SUMMARY
I received a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from The University of Melbourne in 2018 and worked as an X-ray diffraction lab assistant & research associate at Ferdowsi University, Iran, from 2018-2019. Then, I immigrated to Australia with a permanent visa where my son was born. I have extensive research experience both as a postgraduate student and research associate and have expertise in the synthesis of hybrid organic-inorganic molecular metal oxides and transition metal complexes. I also have excellent proficiency in various material characterisation techniques, especially X-ray Diffraction (XRD), small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), both home source X-ray and Synchrotron, and a wide range of spectroscopic techniques. My research has led to Pd-based C-C coupling catalysts, potential redox catalysts, photochromic materials and novel antibacterial Ag-complexes published in high impact peer-reviewed journals (26 publications, 304 citations, h index 12). From Jan 2021, I started an exciting industry-university project on wearable biosensors for healthcare at RMIT University.

Andrés Moreno Moreno began their research in 1987 in the Area of Organic Chemistry of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) with the study of reactions activation anion by Phase Transfer Catalysis of different organic compounds with active methylenes, which were the subject of my Doctoral thesis. Subsequently has come making stays postdoctoral at the University of Oxford (80 weeks 1991-1992, and 4 weeks in 1993), University Paris-Sud (4 weeks in 1994). And several stays as visiting Professor at the University of Oxford (13 weeks in the 2000, 5 weeks in 2004 and 8 weeks in 2017), University of Rome I “La Sapienza” (4 week in 2016) and University of York (8 weeks in 2014).
Since 1995 is Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences. Has taught teaching of subjects of the area of Organic Chemistry from the year 1987 (six quinquennials) in different degrees from the Faculty of Chemical Science (current Faculty of Chemical Sciences & Technologies): as Professor at Chemistry degree, Chemical Engineering degree and Food Science & Technology degree.
Accredited as a University Full Professor in April 2015.
The lines of research in which he has participated are:
-Catalysis by phase transfer catalysis. Activation anionic (CTF).
-Structural Determination through Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR).
-Application of Microwave Radiation in organic synthesis.
-Reactions of cycloaddition under microwave irradiation.
-Application of solid supports and oxidizers not pollutants in catalysed reactions by acids.
-Chemistry of food. Structural Identification of its components by NMR.
-Synthesis and Characterization of biofuel precursors from agricultural wastes.
He has formed part of the Group of investigation in 26 projects of research (11 national and 8 regional) and in 7 projects of scientific infrastructure. Being Principal investigator 1 regional project and in 4 scientific infrastructure projects.
During this time, he published more than 75 scientific articles.
He has directed 5 doctoral dissertations. 1thesis of degree& 4 diplomas of advanced studies.1 master in chemical experimentation & 2 master in sustainable chemistry. 21 research projects with students of fifthcourse of the degree, 2 projects (in chemistry, science and food technology) degree and 3 work of initiation to research of graduates who were awarded scholarships by the University of Castilla-La Mancha.Actually, he is the supervisor of three PhD students; one of them is going to defend her PhD work at the end of this year.
Finally, participated in 60 conferences, 8 of them international and 17 of them as oral presentations.
